This training is for paraprofessionals, aides, adult safety patrol, bus drivers, and cafeteria workers that will be working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This is an introductory level training that will provide background information about Autism Spectrum Disorder. Participants will better understand the characteristics of ASD and will understand how to use visual supports, and The Incredible 5 Point Scale to support students in all school settings. Participants will investigate resources available through Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence including the AIM modules. Follow up support through Para/Aide Professional Learning Community Network will be provided as needed throughout the school year. |
